Software Engineer in Test
Client based in Europe
Full-time, Mon-Fri (3 pm – 11 pm PH Time)
Key Responsibility:
The Software Engineer in Test (SET) is embedded within one or more Scrum teams and is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites across multiple levels of testing. SETs play a critical role in enabling a shift-left testing approach by guiding teams in adopting automated testing practices and ensuring robust test coverage. They focus on technically complex testing challenges and infrastructure, while supporting QA Engineers in their automation journey.
Test Automation & Framework Development
- Design and implement automated tests for different testing types and levels, eg. functional,
- integration, API, regression, and performance testing.
- Build and maintain test frameworks and tooling to support scalable automation.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing.
Team Enablement & Best Practices
- Guide Scrum teams in adopting automated testing practices and tools and increasing automated test coverage.
- Collaborate with QA Engineers to identify manual tests for automation.
- Provide mentorship and support to QA Engineers as they upskill in automation.
Quality Engineering & Infrastructure
- Ensure test environments and data are reliable and reproducible.
- Monitor and improve test execution performance and reliability.
- Contribute to test strategy and architecture across teams.
Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate and introduce new testing tools and technologies.
- Analyze test results and metrics to identify gaps and improve coverage.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering to improve release quality and speed
