Internal Tool Engineer
Client based in Australia
Part-time, Mon-Fri
Key Responsibility:
- Design and maintain a Supabase backend (Postgres, auth, storage, APIs)
- Build and improve Retool apps for internal teams (sales, operations, production)
- Replace Airtable-based workflows with structured, scalable systems
- Create workflow automations (status changes, notifications, data syncing, approvals)
- Integrate LLMs (OpenAI or similar) into internal workflows (summarization, decision support, data enrichment)
- Connect third-party tools via APIs (email, scheduling, project management, etc.)
- Improve data consistency, performance, and long-term maintainability
- Document systems and help establish internal best practices
Required Skills
- Strong experience with SQL and relational data modeling
- Experience working with Supabase or PostgreSQL-based backends
- Hands-on experience building internal tools (Retool or similar platforms)
- Comfort working with APIs and webhooks
- Experience creating workflow automations
- Ability to understand business processes and translate them into systems
